Psychologists are professionally and legally bound by rules and ethical obligations when conducting ourselves on the Internet. This information will outline our social media policy.
Friending and Following
Our therapists do not accept friend or contact requests from current or former clients on any personal social networking site under their personal name and/or personal accounts. This is to protect your confidentiality and our respective privacy, and to maintain effective boundaries within the therapeutic relationship. Please discuss this with your therapist should you have any questions about this.
You are welcome to view our public social media accounts, links are contained below. We may used these accounts to share blog posts, industry news, relevant community information, and professional updates. There is no expectation that you as a client will our social media accounts, and you are welcome to use your own discretion in choosing whether to follow us. We will not follow back any current or former clients on any social media forum, for the same reasons we will not accept friend or contact requests as above.
Interacting
Please do not use social media sites to contact Homeplace Psychology. These sites are not secure, and they are not regularly monitored and as such messages may not be read in a timely manner. Instead, please contact us via our website, phone, or email.
Use of Search Engines
We do not and will not ever search for clients on Google or any other search engine.
Business Review Sites
The Australian Psychological Society’s Code of Ethics states that it is unethical for psychologists to solicit testimonials from therapy clients. Should you find Homeplace Psychology reviews, including on review sites, please note that these listings are not request for a testimonial, rating, or endorsement from you as our client. You have a right to express yourself on any site you wish. Please note, however, that due to confidentiality we cannot respond to any review on any of site regardless of the content of the review.

Anything we share on any social media site as Homeplace Psychology, including this website, is intended for entertainment, information, and/or education purposes only. Our social media content is NOT intended as therapy. All information is to be understood as general information and may not be relevant to you and your personal situation.
